Pastor Luke leads us down the road to Emmaus in Luke 24, where two disciples walk away from Jerusalem heavy with disappointment after Jesus was crucified, their hopes seemingly shattered. As Jesus draws near and opens the Scriptures to them, we discover that God is present in the very places where life has not gone as we expected. It is a tender reminder that Jesus is often closer than we think, even in our deepest disillusionment.
